Knee Pain

There are many ways to treat knee pain, but the first step if to find the root of the problem. Knee pain can present itself in numerous ways, and many things can present themselves as knee pain. Before you turn to taking a painkiller every day, try talking to a chiropractor to find out what other ways you can treat it.

Common reasons for knee pain

Many people experience knee pain after an injury, but chronic knee pain rarely goes away without treatment.

The most common reasons for knee pain include:

  • Arthritis: people of all ages can suffer from arthritis. The knees are one of the most common joints affected by arthritis. At the CFNPS, our practitioners treat many different kinds of arthritis with an approach tailored to you and your active lifestyle.
  • Surgery recovery: recovering from surgery often includes treatment like physiotherapy or support from custom-foot orthotics. Our practitioners help asses your specific situation and create both short-term and long-term treatment plans.
  • Sports injury: if you’re experiencing chronic knee pain or have injured yourself while being active, our physiotherapists can help get you back to your active self with custom short-term and long-term treatment.
  • Tendinitis or Jumper’s Knee: tendinitis is caused by repetitive motion. People who suffer from it often work on their feet, work out the same area regularly or are very active in a sport. Our practitioners help treat it most often with physiotherapy.
  • Hip issues: sudden or chronic hip issues can also present itself as knee pain.

See what our patients have to say

I have been going to the Centre For Natural Pain Solutions for about a year now.  They have a wonderful and very helpful staff. I have gone to see Dr. Sean Ceaser with regards to leg pain I have had for about 10 years. Dr. Ceaser was the first doctor to diagnosis and review scientific treatments that worked. It was a huge relief to finally find solutions to my pain! Dr. Ceaser has a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as shows great compassion for his patients, and clearly enjoys his profession.

I would highly recommend Natural Pain Solutions to anyone! – Andrea via Google

FAQs

My knees are chronically hurting, do I have arthritis?

Arthritis is the most common cause of knee pain, especially osteoarthritis. However, there are other factors that can contribute to knee pain such as:

  • Runner’s Knee
  • Dashboard Knee
  • soft-tissue problems
  • musculoskeletal imbalance
  • Pregnancy
  • bad posture

If you have chronic knee pain, your best bet is to talk to one of our practitioners to find the root of the problem and begin helping you on your road to healing.

When should I seek treatment for my knee pain?

You should visit a doctor when your symptoms last three days or more or occur several times in a month. You should also discuss knee pain with your physician following an injury or accident.

Does diet affect knee pain?

Excessive weight can cause stress on the knees. Losing weight relieves the knee joints of stress and can prevent the development or worsening of arthritis.

Gout is a form of arthritis caused by excess uric acid in the system and can lead to joint deterioration. If you think you may have gout, it’s important you see a physician immediately. A change in diet and medications are the usual treatment plan for patients with gout.

Omega-three fatty acids, the ones found in fish, alleviate arthritis symptoms too and can be a natural alternative to anti-inflammatory drugs.
