RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) is a chronic pain condition that most often affects a limb. Pain becomes progressively worse over time and will often spread. The most common causes are: trauma such as a fracture, injury or surgery, infection or nerve trauma.

The sympathetic nerves are thought to play a prominent role in causation of pain. Increased sympathetic activity is associated with increased sensitization to pain and chronic pain states. This, coupled with reduced oxygen perfusion, hinders recovery from injury and predisposes to long-term pain and disability.

Our Doctor’s at Centre for Natural Pain Solution have had wonderful success with RSD. We use a multi-disciplinary approach and combine the latest understanding of neurology and pain into therapy to improve the individual’s pain.
